The Peterhof complex is made up of a set of palaces and gardens that are located on the Gulf of Finland (about 30 kilometers west of Saint Petersburg) and that were until 1917 the residence of the Tsars. They are known as the "Russian Versailles" and are a UNESCO heritage site.
