The New Maiden monastery — has been based by Vasily III in 1524 in honor of returning in structure of Russian city lands of Smolensk. The monastery arrangement in the southwest, near to fords through the Moskva River has defined its value as monastery-fortress which often appeared in the center of important historical events. The big collection of Russian icons, products of jeweler art, art sewing and books XVI-XVII of centuries is stored in a museum. In a monastery necropolis there are tombs of many outstanding state and public figures of Russia

The Novodevichy Cemetery is one of Moscow’s most prestigious resting places – a veritable who’s who of Russian politics and culture. Here you will find the tombs of Bulgakov, Chekhov, Gogol, Mayakovsky, Prokofiev, Stanislavsky and Eisenstein, among many other Russian and Soviet cultural notables. The most recent notable addition to the cemetery is former President Boris Yeltsin, whose tomb is marked by an enormous Russian flag
