Travel tips

After a long journey you may feel jet lagged so we wouldn’t recommend taking tours or excursions on the first day. Just make yourself comfortable at first. Then get one of the city maps and have a walk around your hotel or go to the city centre. St. Petersburg is beautiful at night, all the lights are on, people having fun outside, and a lot of bars and restaurants are ready to welcome you in!

During a
sightseeing tour you will see the central part of a city with its cathedrals, the buildings decorated with a delightful stucco molding, sculptural angels and lions, wonderful parks and embankments . To your look will appear also Nevsky prospect, a sculptural complex of Anichkov bridge, the bright architecture of Savior on the Blood Church, the Mars field, the Copper Horseman monument, ensemble of the Isaak Cathedral , Palace Square, the Arrow of Vasilevsky Island and other monuments of architecture.

Hermitage museum

The Hermitage — one of the oldest and largest museums of the world. It is located in five historical buildings of St.-Petersburg, including the Winter palace - residence of Russian tsars. Buildings of a museum are architectural masterpieces. Hermitage collections total 3 million exhibits, from the most ancient times up to now. In 400 halls magnificent samples of primitive art, art of Egypt, ancient art, gold of Scythians, extensive collections of the West European art and many other things are presented.

The more you explore of your destination city the merrier is your holiday. We recommend taking optional tours in St. Petersburg:

- Pushkin is situated near another St. Petersburg suburb – Pavlovsk. You may go there as well and amidst these beautiful places order a meal in Russian-styled restaurant “Podvorye” where you may taste all traditional dishes for a reasonable price.

- At night you could go on a tour “St. Petersburg by night”. In summer season you will see the bridges over Neva being drawn, stunning illuminations of the city, and all splendors of the city in full swing.
